3D Inspection is modernizing at Safran with Metrolog X4 1

Since 2018, three sites have been work­ing to mod­ern­ize 3D inspec­tion through the deploy­ment of a 4.0 soft­ware: Metrolog X4.
The objec­tive? No more and no less than increased mea­sure­ment performance.

The soft­ware has algo­rithms devel­oped for faster com­pu­ta­tion times, offers a fluid user expe­ri­ence thanks to its improved inter­face and allows an opti­mized pro­gram­ming expe­ri­ence. In short, the per­fect tool to allow our inspec­tors and pro­gram­mers to be more autonomous.” explains Bertrand Valière, on-​site Adjustment and Inspection Manager.

Moving up to the next level also means start­ing from scratch, as teams have to be trained and hun­dreds of pro­grams have to be trans­formed. Charlotte CRAMPON, Inspection Methods Manager, empha­sizes: “The lit­tle extra is that our sup­pli­ers use the same soft­ware, which will allow a bet­ter coop­er­a­tion between us”.

The project is still in its early stages, but one thing is cer­tain, it will allow Quality Inspection to move into 4.0!
